Hebrews 11:16 "But they now desire a better place--a heavenly one.Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them."

It is Widows' Day today. And so it's somewhat fitting that I was able to visit a movie studio this week here in Texas. Scenes built to depict ancient times; backdrops from another era, another continent. Accounts I could name from the pages of my Bible.

Yes, I pondered, I have photos and videos of life five, ten years ago. Another time, other places, a different me.

But now, the world is different. Heaven feels closer when we realize that's where a loved one is, face to face with our Lord Jesus. "I'm going away to prepare a place for you," Jesus promised in John 14. Oh how we want wandering loved ones to accept Him so they can have His peace, His assurance of hope for that place He's preparing.

And this renews the purpose God puts in our hearts. On this Widows' Day, I want to remember I am still here to share the hope of Christ in this world and that we can prepare and look forward to a heavenly home.
